FAQs

What are Dermal Fillers made from?

Dermal Fillers are made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is naturally produced within the body and which are found in the connective tissue. This is basically a large sugar molecule, and as it is produced naturally, the body happily accepts it when injected into your lips.

How Many Sessions Will I Need, And How Far Apart Can I Have Them?

This will be determined by the look and feel you are looking to achieve. We will work with you to determine a treatment plan  and we will guide you on the exact amount of time needed. Remember each persons body is different and each will respond to treatments differently. We will treat you like the amazing individual you are and everything will be tailored to you and your needs.

How long does a treatment typically last?

The treatments we offer typically take an hour, some of the Dermal Filler treatments will take longer due to the areas and delicacy required when treating. Clients can expect to notice the effects on Lip Fillers typically to last 6 months. Other areas of the face can last for as long as 18 months after treatment. Everybody is different however, so we always apply caution when giving out information on how long dermal fillers will last. The body will naturally break the HA in the fillers down, and this is a unique process per person.  There is even precedence of results lasting up to 24 months in some cases.

Am I A Suitable Client?

Facial Dermal Fillers can be used on a wide range of clients, and is primarily used for skin rejuvenation and the reduction of lines and wrinkles. Although there is no known risk to those who are pregnant or breast feeding, but we would advise against having treatment under these circumstances. There are some people whom we advise avoid Dermal Fillers. We do have a detailed review of your current medical situation during our consultation, however please note the following conditions will prevent you from having treatments:  Active infections in the desired area of the treatment, we recommend not having Fillers if you are pregnant or breast feeding, anyone with a previous allergic reaction to a Dermal Filler or someone with an allergy to Lidocaine (often added to fillers for the comfort of client).

What If Any, Are The Side Effects?

In general everyone reacts differently, some not at all. Typically we usually expect to see some minor bruising, redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, itching, and on some occasions a rash can appear. These are completely usual, safe and although you will feel concerned, they rarely become a problem. Side Effects are more likely to become a problem if you have a medical condition that you were not aware of or failed to disclose in the consultation.

I Don't Want A "Trout-Pout" As A Result, Will That Happen To Me?

No, we work to high standards of injecting and have plenty of experience in this area, however, we also ensure we give the look the client actually wants.

Can I Get Permanent Fillers?

We do not offer permanent fillers.

Will My Face Be Lumpy After Treatment?

On some occasions this becomes a possible side-effect to treatment. Clients are shown how to massage the area themselves, however, usually we prefer to invite you back to make minor adjustments, if needed. We use a special massage technique which settles the product and what is left will be the final result.

Will My Family And Friends Notice I've Had Work Done?

Usually family and friends won’t notice your cosmetic treatment (they may notice with swelling & bruising within the first 2 weeks until this settles), instead recognising (especially with dermal fillers) a more youthful or refreshed look.
